Grandma Virtue’s Rhubarb Pudding

2 Tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup sour milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°. Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased 8 x 8 inch pan.  Add:

1/2 cup sugar

2 rhubarb

nutmeg or cinnamon

dot with butter

Pour 1 cup hot water over all and bake for 25-35 minutes.
